At McFelder Translations we have a state of the art design studio which allows us to translate directly into the artwork of your documents without neglecting brand image or style. We can translate directly into the design files with the help of Computer Aided Translation (CAT) tools, allowing translation to take place directly into design software programs such as Adobe Creative Suite or QuarkXPress. After the translation and revision has been completed, our in-house design team will edit the artwork as per the original format.
The majority of our translation assignments include this type of file format and as a result we are familiar with the different challenges that can occur with the incorporation of the translated text into the artwork.
These challenges may include the following:
Artwork may have to be adapted to fit the translated text as most languages occupy
25 – 30% more space in comparison to the original English.
Artwork may have to be completely reversed to run from right to left for languages such as Arabic.
Additional dedicated software is often required to accurately handle the characters and formatting for languages such as Bengali, Gujarati and other non-Latin script languages
These challenges cannot be readily resolved by a traditional artwork agency that does not have the experience or knowledge of the grammar and punctuation rules of a language, expertise in foreign type setting as well as the library of fonts and characters we have at McFelder Translations. Also, we only work with ISO Standard translators to not only translate your text but complete a final sign off of the completed project in the art work format so the text is ready to be released and published.
Therefore, with our Desktop Publishing service your brand image will never be lost in translation.
Our outstanding Desktop Publishing service is favoured by many of our international clients. Howden is just one of our clients who has taken advantage of our renowned Desktop Publishing Service time and time again.
